EFI is a multi disciplinary engineering firm providing services to clients in the commercial, industrial and municipal sectors.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team of dedicated professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and a passion for providing innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and managing a variety of civil engineering projects, from planning and design to construction and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management: Lead and manage multiple civil engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and client satisfaction.
  2. Design and Analysis: Develop detailed design plans, perform engineering calculations and analysis, and produce technical specifications for various civil engineering projects, including infrastructure, transportation, water resources, and site development.
  3. Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout project development and execution.
  4. Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with architects, planners, environmental scientists, and other engineering disciplines to develop comprehensive and integrated project designs.
  5. Permitting and Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to local and provincial regulations, and coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  6. Quality Assurance and Quality Control: Oversee and implement QA/QC procedures to ensure the highest quality of engineering deliverables, and provide technical reviews for designs and reports.
  7. Construction Administration: Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams to ensure projects are built according to design specifications, and provide on-site support during critical construction phases.
  8. Proposal Development: Assist in the preparation of project proposals, including scope definition, budget estimation, and timeline projections.
  9. Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical support and guidance to enhance their professional development.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and emerging technologies, and contribute to the firm’s continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, identifying best practices, and recommending process improvements.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  2. Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
  3. Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on consulting.
  4. Proficiency in relevant design and analysis software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and HEC-RAS.
  5. Strong project management skills and experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
  6. Must be able and willing to travel to the United States.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present complex engineering concepts to clients and non-technical stakeholders.
  8. Proven track record of successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
